While we always strive to ensure that we provide the best possible workplace environment and benefits, we have had the same challenge with regards to medical aid that many companies across South Africa struggle with.

We therefore embarked on an intensive scrutiny of all the available products to see what would provide the best possible solution for our staff, and found most to be either too expensive or offering too few benefits.

While not everyone can afford medical aid, medical insurance is an affordable option. Medical insurance solved our problem, with a solution that offers cover for accident and illness. In addition to meeting our duty of care to encourage our staff to be healthier, the medical insurance contributions are tax deductible; and in addition to providing much-needed medical cover for our employees, the medical insurance has created a change in the attitudes of the staff who are more proactive about their health than ever before, and more productive as a result.

We implemented the medical insurance cover a year ago, and have seen the benefits. With every happy staff member, more are coming on board. In addition, we increased the benefits offered in 2013 without increasing the premium.

As a result of the fantastic success we have seen within our own company, we have registered a financial services brokerage so that we can offer the same solution to our clients. Not only have we seen the value in the product, by doing this, we are able to pass certain savings and benefits on to our customers.
